Meet Our Leadership Team

The Vertical Payments leadership team consists of Gregory Denman and Lance Marcinek. Their partnership spans more than 15 years building and cultivating relationships in the processing world.

As partners, they joined CardConnect in 2012 where they built and co-managed a diverse portfolio consisting of B2B, retail, e-commerce and ISV relationships. Their team approach allows them to divide and conquer while focusing on their individual strengths to best meet the needs of their customers. In January 2023, Vertical Payments was formed to offer more diverse solutions to a broader range of clients with a specific focus on integrated solutions to best serve the growing software industry.

  • As co-founder and chief executive officer, Greg is responsible for all business operations and product strategy. Prior to founding Vertical Payments, he was a sales director with CardConnect for 11 years where he co-managed a portfolio with Lance Marcinek. Prior to joining CardConnect he grew and managed a portfolio at Fifth Third Processing Solutions and owned his own agency before that. Greg is a Chicago native and graduate of Barry University and played on the golf team. He is married with three daughters, an avid golfer and enjoys traveling and being outdoors.

  • As co-founder and president, Lance is responsible for all sales and marketing efforts. Prior to founding Vertical Payments, he was a sales director with CardConnect for 11 years where he co-managed a portfolio with Greg Denman. Before joining CardConnect he was a business banker for Fifth Third bank and has been in financial services for the past 33 years. He is a Chicago native and graduate of Western Illinois University. Lance enjoys muskie fishing and everything outdoors with family and friends.
